home: made [ diy resin coasters ]

Head to our favourite A Beautiful Mess blog for another great home diy project. Today our pick is a tutorial to make alcohol ink patterned resin coasters.

It’s a great easy project with wonderful unique results. The materials are easy to get hold of and it would be a simple effective way to produce lots of great little gifts (for teachers gifts, stocking fillers, house warming presents) or to create something unique for your own home.

Colours can be adapted according to taste and style. We love the idea of using a metallic ink like this gold one from Jackson’s , but plenty of internet based stores offer a variety of colours and pack sizes. You will also need an Epoxy Resin and Hardener Kit, gloves and a resin coaster mould.

It’s great to get beautiful art for the walls but also even better when the work is limited edition and therefore far more unique to your home.

We love this intricate limited edition leaf print by Jenny Farnell with its delicate linear ink work.

Freshen up your home with this new print design from Manchester artist Jenny Farnell.

This lovely interiors brand is a great find.

Atkin & Thyme has a relatively small but well curated selection of furniture, lighting, seating & mirrors.

We particularly love their sideboards and chest of drawers.

‘We travel far and wide to source our unique collection of furniture and home accessories, selecting only beautifully crafted pieces made from high quality materials. The artisans we work with make them in limited, low volume batches, which means you won’t find our designs in run-of-the-mill high street shops’

Our favourite new find is FoundLand store. Quirky, original and full to the rafters of gifts and homeware that you would be hard pushed to easily find elsewhere.

They say;

Think of us as your upmarket general store, with an international goods aisle and a smutty top-shelf thrown in for good measure.

We’re Sarah and Arthur, and we run the emporium from London town. Having earned our crusts in retail, running the Monocle webshop and sourcing for some of the major gallery shops in London, we have the inside knowledge on where to find the best gifts across the globe. The hard-to-find, the new releases, the limited editions, the stuff which no-one else has. We pride ourselves on selling exclusive products, and we stock only goodies which we have and we want in our own lives. From traditional Japanese brooms to brassy Italian stationery to wooden spoons hand-carved in an English forest, we’ve found it and now you can find it here too.
