They say;

Kuishi (ku-we-she) meaning ‘Live‘ in Swahili.

Kuishi is a home and lifestyle brand based in Cornwall. Our ethos is to embrace living a simpler life with products that bring joy to the home as well as showing consideration for the environment.

Why

Kuishi was born out of a personal need to change the way I live my life. This did not mean I had to stop having nice things, cutting back on the things that make me happy or making massive changes to my lifestyle. It was about making simple choices about the small things that make me feel good, by reducing the impact my spending habits have on the environment and people.

How

I do this by providing simple ideas and solutions that can help make a difference to our environment through change. Whether it’s reducing the amount of plastic items we purchase or buy items made from sustainable resources that reduce soil erosion and don’t harm the environment.

What

I just happen to provide beautiful products that will help you not only make a small difference to the environment but will improve the look and feel of your home and your lifestyle.

This year if you want to be bold then embrace the trend of clashing colours, patterns, textiles… it’s all about being brave with mixing sizes of pattern, tones of colour and creating a powerful, eclectic feel.

There is a certain compatibility but it feels very ‘carefully’ thrown together. Keep colours rich and break up the pattern with plain bold and bright pieces of furniture, but mix geometric patterned curtains with floral wall paper or mix a striped throw over a intricate print sofa.

A little bit of Scandinavian perfection in from lovely Swedish brand Minus Tio. Having featured their coat rack last week we felt this store needed to be shouted about.

Their legacy and basis for all their designs are summed up with a perfect collation of words… ‘Sweden in the 80’s – Dark winters, cross county skiing, Sigurd Lewerentz, Alvar Aalto. Pine, rocky islands and concrete, Saab and Nintendo. This is often where we start our projects.’

With a talented team of designers they have exquisite design, using sustainable materials and their range includes chairs, tables and accessories; furniture for both the home or commercial use.

Minus tio is all about the love of furniture. Our collection is unique, contemporary and locally produced. We design, we manufacture and we sell.

home: trend [ greenery ]

home: trend [ greenery ]

The last year has seen a massive increase in greenery in our homes, not only in painted walls and furniture, but also the increase in indoor plants [ faux and real ] spread throughout a room. Layer them up to create texture and shade.

Green is a calming colour and not only do leaf and plant prints bring the outside in, they also create interest and focal points. The plants themselves do the same.

Last year we saw green combined with millennial pink and this continues, although the tone has changed slightly and is more of a berry colour…think pale raspberry.

Work with these shades together through accessories with either the green or pink taking the walls.
