One of our favourite stores we found this year is Room 356. This home and lifestyle store is full of beautifully designed pieces from stationary to lighting, jewellery to ceramics.

Room 356 started in 2014 by Mother and Daughter team Cassie & Bev with their bricks and mortar store in Bolton with an accompanying online shop, blog and social media accounts.

‘ The dream was to create an online store and retail space with a special and unique identity. We wanted to offer you the ultimate shopping experience, and make each and everyone of you feel valued.’

Try and make a visit Room 356 in person, otherwise be sure to check out the online store and keep up to date with Room 356 by following their Twitter and Instagram accounts.

New kids on the block Resident have come a long way in such a short time. This modern lifestyle store started out only last year with a pop up store at PopBrixton. The huge success of the brand then lead co founders James Borley and Greg Avis to find a more permanent premises for their expanding ideas. Resident now sits on Catherine Hill in the picturesque Frome, Bath.

Resident houses ‘a curated selection of homewares, accessories and grooming products from a diverse range of designers and makers from both here in the UK and overseas’.

Filled with gorgeous items you don’t see in other stores, with our favourites including the ceramics and baskets Resident has created a stripped back decor allowing the products to stand out on their own. The simple black and white interior mixed with woodchip has followed them from their pop up days and it really works, giving the customer a no clutter experience. The guys have plans to double the shop in size towards the end of the year making for what will be a stunning shopping space. We can’t wait to see it.

If you are in the area be sure to pop in and say hi and take a look around. With a popular monthly market in Frome there is plenty to do and see. Alternatively head to residentstore.co.uk to see the online collection.

You can also follow Resident on InstagramTwitter and Facebook

In addition to donating some gorgeous LA: Bruket handcremes to our giveaway Resident has a 10% discount code ‘homeblog’ for you to use until the end of July.

Another realitively new homeware shop popping up on the streets of East London is O’Dell’s – a fine mix of homeware, grooming, and lifestyle goods aimed at men, although there are plenty of pieces that will appeal to all.
Established by Tom O’Dell, he has created – in his own words – ‘a carefully curated selection of products from skilled makers and brands, that sit within a relaxed and friendly shop in the heart of Shoreditch’.
He keeps the products as exclusive as possible to O’Dell’s with a real focus on UK made goods.
The store itself has a very clean and minimal feel about it, with only the addition of a few filled plant pots placed around the stock, allowing the products to stand out and be the main focus.
There are so many lovely pieces on offer,  with our favourites being the hand crafted ceramics and rugs.

O’Dell’s should be on everyone’s list of ‘must see’ homeware shops in London.
