Join our team at Tottenham Court Road on the 7th December for the most festive shopping event of the year.

Complimentary drinks will be served, a DJ will be playing seasonal tunes and there will be live performances by a pop choir. We’ll also be hosting Christmas workshops, including bauble painting, paper crafting and decoration making.

Shop ceramics, homeware, gifts, jewellery, graphic design and textiles with opportunities to meet the makers and learn all about their products.

This free event runs from 1st – 3rd December at The Design Museum in Kennsington, London.

The Geffrye is in Hoxton, East London. Admission to the museum is free.

The nearest Overground and Underground stations are Hoxton, Liverpool Street and Old Street. 

Opening hours

Tuesday – Sunday 10am – 5pm

Bank Holiday Mondays 10am – 5pm

Closed Mondays (unless Bank Holiday), Good Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day

The period gardens and herb garden will close for winter at 5pm Sunday 29 October. The front gardens are open until 5pm all year round

The café is open until 4.45pm

The shop is open during museum hours

Exciting news … We are about to embark on a transformational £18m development project – Unlocking the Geffrye – which will mean the museum will close on 7 January 2018 for almost two years. Although the main museum building and period gardens will be closed, there will still be plenty of reasons to come to the Geffrye. Throughout closure we will run a busy programme of events, activities and installations in our front gardens. The restored almshouse will also be open for tours on certain dates throughout the year.

WORKSHOP DETAILS; 

An interior styling workshop covering editorial and commercial styling. Discovering the real life workings of one of the UKs most successful contemporary interior stylists. Learning about differnet project types, you will begin to understand the stages from initial brief, research, design, and sourcing through to final concept. An outline of types of styling will be examined through out the workshop: permanent design / decoration, non permanent space such as a trade show, and editorial shoots in a magazine. 

Despina Curtis is an experienced Interior Stylist, Art Director and Spacial Designer who has worked in the interiors and design industry for over 10 years. Despina started her career as Style Editor of Elle Decoration UK before moving onto Wallpaper* magazine as Deputy Interiors Editor. Other editorial titles Despina has worked on are The Guardian and Observer magazines, Surface, Vanity Fair, Esquire and PORT. She is a contributing editor of Living Corriere magazine in Milan.
