The new SNOFSA table clock from Ikea is a perfect addition to a bedroom. Not only is it a great style, a nod to Art Deco with a slightly modernised silhouette, but also the clever designers have introduced a silent mechanism so no annoying ticking sound.

In a brass coloured finish, it’s on trend, and just £12.

They say;

We’re carrying on our love affair with macramé. It’s a great way to make a wall hanging – and it’s way quicker than weaving, knitting or quilting. If you’ve been putting off taking up a new skill because you’re busy, this might be the one for you. Plus you’ll have the skills you need to make all sorts of plant holders, wall hangings, jewellery and more. Macrame is super versatile and looks good in everything from kitchen string to leather cord, so what are you waiting for? Now’s the time to pick up the skill and get creative with it!

We’ll be using recycled jersey yarn created by our favourites over at Hoooked – we love their bright colours and sustainable manufacturing. Choose from pink, yellow, white or black. We’ll also supply a foraged rustic stick to hang your work from that’s been washed and heat-treated so its clean and dry!

What’s included:

– jersey yarn recycled by Hoooked

– a foraged stick to hang your macrame piece from

– a cotton tote to bring your handiwork home in

– fully illustrated instruction sheet to take away with you

Who’s it for: This is perfect for beginners. You must be over 18 to take part

This season’s trend for mosaics shows how patterns of mosaic tiles or patterns in the style of, are not just for holiday destinations or even a bathroom – that can work in any room as a feature or pattern on the wall or homeware.

Blending art, architecture and design, mosaic tile is one of the oldest forms of wall and floor covering. Using the tiny squares known as tesserae, Ancient Greeks and Romans created detailed stories and intricate geometric patterns, and mosaic art embellishes ceilings, walls and floors from Byzantium to Barcelona // SeattleTimes.com

Using mosaics on walls can make a bold design statement and an incredible alternative to wallpaper or paint for a feature wall. You could use block colour or patterned design depending on the colour scheme and style of room. It could be used on a chimney breast, kitchen wall or even as an alternative way of creating a headboard for a bed.

Not looking to be so bold? There’s lots of accessories to bring a little of the trend into the home – on ceramics and fabrics.
