A haven of perfect vintage, midcentury and Scandinavian design under one roof. The range of superb condition vintage pieces at PIB is extensive and includes chairs, tables, lighting, storage, and more.
They say:
Style, Quality, and Everlasting: The PIB Concept
PIB was founded because we couldn’t find furniture which combined style & quality online. The products were either of bad quality, badly presented or in the middle of long lists with no coherence of styles.
Currently there are great ‘back to school’ special discounts on various pieces running until 25th September.
Plywood furniture is nothing new, made popular in the 1950s with design icons like Charles and Ray Eames. The material that was once thought too cheap to be on show is now making its biggest mark on interiors being used on everything from furniture to kitchen cupboards to wall coverings.
The amazing nature of plywood means it can bend and create beautiful shapes, and this is particularly evident in pendant lights. If you are looking for a statement light this coming season, make sure its made of plywood.
Light shade from clasohlson.com [ £29.99 ]Another great way to make a statement is to use plywood where you may not expect. Make cupboard doors in a kitchen or panel a wall in a living room. Let the finish be raw and obvious, no need to cover up with paint.
If you fancy a more subtle approach to plywood try adding in some dining chairs or perhaps a side table or stool. These pieces of furniture can add interest to a room and blend with other trends, like mid-century, monochrome and Scandinavian. You really need to appreciate the design of the pieces you choose, so a less cluttered room is probably best.
A beautiful addition to any room for storage, we love this new piece in the IKEAStockholm collection. This natural ash and rattan airy, scandi style cupboard is a light modern cupboard suitable for linen, crockery, books or even toys. Things will be partially screened to keep tidy but the cabinet still remains fresh and with a modern feel for a room.
Stockholm pieces are limited edition so they’re not around forever.
There are always going to be colours and materials that will continuously work as accents to a room, and one of these is copper. There was a dip in popularity last year where we were being told that copper was out, and to be replaced by other metalics like gold and bronze. But we can assure you copper is going nowhere and in 2017 it’s again going to be big.
As with most metalics copper works best in accessories, complimenting a room and colour scheme. But if you are feeling brave then there is a whole lot more you can do to get your copper fix.
Lighting is a great place to start with some gorgeous pendant lights, desk lamps and floor lamps readily available, as well as bringing subtle tones into bulbs and flex. [ made.com and rockettstgeorge.co.uk have some amazing lighting ]
Using copper lighting with industrial furniture
Introduce copper in furniture through table legs and drawer fronts combined with dark woods on table tops and cabinets. Copper is a great metal to bring an industrial feel to a room working best with strong solid design, and when it’s worn it looks even better.
Pick some key pieces, whether it’s a wall clock, vases or kitchenware and stratigicaly place them around the space mixed with other prints and pattern to suit. Copper is a great metal that works with many different trends; scandinavian, industrial and bohemian to name a few, so whatever your taste copper can be included.
[ Some complimentary colours to consider would be navy, grey, dark green and white ].
For a full on copper experience you may want to consider covering a wall or floor. Pick a patterned paper with touches of copper, or go for an all over solid block on a feature wall. This can look really striking, especially in dark rooms. Tiling is another option to get the wow factor with brushed and worn copper working best, especially if considered for a hallway or kitchen.

Beautiful Copenhagen based brand, Ferm Living, have spent a decade producing and designing incredible homewares and furniture. Their clean, minimal, elegant design silhouette so identifiable to their name is highly admired and ergo regularly seen to be tried to be imitated and copied by other brands. The level of quality and materials is never achieved though. The lines are never as clean, and the colour tones never as pure.
Signature pieces that have influenced other people to design similar Ferm Living is unique. This design comes with a price tag but these are pieces to invest in and collated well in home will result in beautiful interiors.
The design, colours and styles are well thought out and considered, with an obvious nod towards their Scandinavian heritage, a touch retro but most of all – every piece is like art, with great craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Excitedly we wait to see what 2017 brings for this brand.

A simple and easy way to modernise and update a room is to use rugs. Bring colour and pattern into a room without it being overpowering. A great place to get well priced rugs is Ikea; simple and stylish examples ranging in size and shape, but all at great prices.
