We discovered the amazing printing projects on Finnish photographer Kreetta’s blog Gretchen Gretchen, when browsing the Remodelista blog – and fell in love.

So creative and such simple printing ideas that are so very effective in creating beautiful modern print led patterns.

Create your own fabrics from her tutorials to in turn, make into table cloths, cushions, napkins, or even curtains – the ideas are endless.

State your thoughts through your homeware with the power of words on your homewares.

Choose special words or phrases and pop them around the home to highlight important statements about you and your beliefs.

Slogans pop onto so many homewares; vases, prints, ceramics, cushions, tea towels or even just as moulded words in wood, plastic or metal to put on a mantle piece or shelf.

We are always looking to discover artists that’s work we admire and we’d love to adorn our walls. The work of Philip O’Dwyer is no exception.

Gorgeous architectural and often brutalist inspiration fills his ink and acrylic pieces.

See more of his work on his website or on his Instagram feed

Bio:

Philip O’Dwyer is a designer and visual artist. Born in 1974 in Dublin, he lives and works in London.

‘My practice uses drawing and painting to explore personal preoccupations with the built human environment. I’m interested in the interaction between an imaginary world of building codes, patterns, and perfect industrial objects and the real world of decay, repair and individual self-expression’.

With marble still being a strong trend, why not try tie dying at home in black and white to create a similar monochrome look.

It’s simple and effective and all you need is the dye and some cotton plain bedding.

Try John Lewis, Argos or Dunelm for great plain bedding.

We love this effective method from HonestlyWTF but also our favourite A Beautiful Mess has a great tutorial too.

Vintage florals is a trend to see you through the seasons with its lightness and beauty that doesn’t feel out of place near winter throws, velvet furniture and cosy nights nor out of place with rattan furniture, white walls and natural rugs.

It can be incorporated boldly with whole walls of tiling or wallpaper, clashing layers of cushions or an eclectic gallery wall of prints but also can be done subtly. A simple print on a wall, a feature armchair in a minimal room or random tiles dotted amongst plain on a splash back.
