We have seen a lot of this style before, but the fact is, brands still love it, and we still love it. Leading the way is velvet, we are seeing it everywhere, on furniture, lighting and soft furnishings.

Velvet is the simplist way to get a luxurious feel in your home, whether it’s a statement chair or a few cushions on a sofa. Get extra glam with accessories like gold framed mirrors and smoked glass table tops.

Key colours for this trend are ochre and pink, with accents of brass and gold. This is what we are seeing a lot of but other colours appearing for Autumn are deep blue and burgandy.

With a heavy art deco influence this trend explores interesting shapes and patterns. For example round table tops with square frames, painted detail on cabinets and angular mirrors with interesting shapes. Luxe Living is about pushing the look that little bit further than before, be brave with it and own it.

We head into the deep blue sea for this current trend. Seeking inspiration from the curved beauty of natural scale patterns and scallop shell edges; homeware, furniture and fabrics embrace the design and use to create a softer look on wooden furniture, a pretty look for edges of mirrors or frames, a calming look with the colours and designs and a pleasing pattern for soft furnishings.

Mostly found in blue and green sea tones, natural beiges as well as creams and whites. It’s classier elegant sea side trend, more polished and grown up.

Let’s begin by saying that this trend is not for everyone. Of course we would argue we all need a bit of leopard print in our lives, but we won’t hold it against you if it’s not your thing.

Colour block – a trend that comes and goes across the interiors world but with the abundance of strong products on the current market, it’s definitely sticking around for now, is proving popular and is an easy look to achieve and evolve with homewares through the changing season – refreshing with different cushions, throws or artwork. Plus it’s also easy to update with a fresh coat of paint on a single wall.

It’s about picking a few strong colours that sit well together and emphasising with accessories in the same tone. For example -A bright yellow wall, a green sofa with green cushions and then dashes of orange in the curtains or rug. Keep patterns to a minimum and break up with lots of white and wood to ensure the few colours stand out strong and bold.

This trend is really aided by the great selection of bold coloured modern silhouette sofas currently filling high street homeware stores. Head to Made, John Lewis or Ikea for a range of affordable options. There are great options in the perfect colours of the year – emerald greens, mustards and deep rich blues.

This season we have started to see more decoration and pattern on furniture and accessories. Side cabinets, consoles and coffee tables have inlaid tiles and wood with decorative patterns and colours.

A brand where you can see a lot of this is anthropologie.com with gorgeous designs and colours.

We are also seeing decoration on ceramics like vases and bowls. They become textural and tactile.

Wood is clearly a big choice for all, with a lot of mixed materials being used on furniture. Parquet finishes and carved wood feature heavily. This carved look also translates to bed headboards and room dividers.

We are getting geared up for Autumn and with that comes cosy nights in with comfy cushions and fluffy throws. Tactile homeware is everywhere right now and today we share some of our favourites.
