This week we look at a new piece in the IKEA range and it’s an immediate favourite.

The new GRONADAL chair is a modern take on the traditional woven rattan rocking chair. 

As with the nature of a hand woven piece – every chair is one of a kind. The structure is built from beautiful natural materials – ash and rattan. 

The design is modern and light weight and would look perfect in a cool minimal Scandi-influenced designed home.

The idea behind GRÖNADAL rocking chair was to make a rocking chair that joins different materials and expressions in unexpected ways. Rattan and ash are vibrant natural materials that age beautifully, and create an interesting contrast to the powder-coated steel. The seat and back are hand-woven using traditional techniques, while the light shape brings modern Scandinavian design to mind. Every part is made with love and care – which I hope you’ll feel when using it.

No home can have too many blankets – for their practical warming use or for aesthetic reasons they are always useful. Change the look or colour scheme of a room by throwing over a chair or sofa, add texture and pattern to a bed styling, bring soft furnishing outside and use with garden furniture or thrown over the grass and kick back – either way having a few alternative blankets in store to mix and match or chop and change is handy.

We love these Koppel wall clocks from Georg Jensen. Danish designer Henning Koppel created this collection of wall clocks back in 1978 for the contemporary, modern home. They have now become timepiece classics.

Available in four colours these clocks would look great in a hall way or kitchen. Our favourites are the copper and white for its on trend fresh feel and the monochrome black and white for its timeless appeal.

Shhhh, don’t tell everyone but we found these gorgeous retro style chairs that are very similar to the fabulous Mexican Acapulco chair but a fraction of the price. 

Available at a few high street stores including Homebase, these Charles Bentley retro lounge chairs are only £59.99.

We have a bit of an obsession with chairs, and always looking out for new designs or classic reproductions. We think the Hee Chair from HAY is one of those chairs that just oozes style packaged within a very simple but clever design. Perfect for indoor and outdoor use.

‘The philosophy behind the Hee Chair was to take an archetypal chair and perfect it down to the last detail while cutting the expression to the minimum. The goal was to create a contemporary chair that would fit into a wide range of contexts. The attempt was successful, and the Hee series is a pragmatic and easily decoded chair series. Like a line drawing, it wraps metre after metre of metal wire into neat, straight lines in three versions: bar stool, lounge chair and dining chair.
