This year has seen an array of colour in the home including yellow, blue, berry red, green and pink.

Sometimes a combination of colours seems so random but somehow works and this time round its green & pink. They have had their moment as stand alone accent colours, but now try and mix the two and witness the gorgeous result.

Pale, moss, apple, olive, whatever the shade of green, there is a pink to compliment. Paler shades of pink can look great next to richer greens.

Add some metalics like gold and brass to bring a lux feel, in accessories and chair legs. There are no rules to colour, it’s a very personal choice. We can only inspire and share what we are loving right now, and this colour combination is one of the best.

Gone are the days of hiding everything behind cabinet doors and wardrobes, it time to embrace what you own and show it off.

This Autumn furniture is to be admired not only by how it looks but also whats on it. Open clothes rails instead of wardrobes in the bedroom, doorless cabinets in the kitchen and drinks trolleys in the living room is where its at.

Curated shelving [ image via Houzz ]
Going for this kind of look will obviously mean some serious de-cluttering and organising. Pick your favourite pieces to display on shelves, your best dinnerware out for all to see in the kitchen and neat hung clothing on rails. Its much more of a curated feel, almost shop like with minimal designed pieces of furniture.

Of course there is still a need to for some closed doors for those items you just cant live without but perhaps are less appealing on the eye. But generally if you can invest in some key storage you will start to embrace it and destress knowing you have a place for everything, and it looks good at the same time.

The pom pom has grown in popularity in recent years and this year it has appeared on everything from shoes & clothing to garlands in the home. Appearing a lot on cuhsions, bedspreads and curtains pom poms bring a lot of fun to a room, also adding texture.

We all remember making pom poms at school, using a donut shaped piece of cardboard and a lot of wool. Although quite time consuming the result was worth it.

These days there are other ways to get the perfect pom pom and we have found some tutorials to show you how, plus different uses for them.
