We love discovering new stores and just in it’s early days we find Lino Loca, a lovely new shop on Etsy.

The print designs are mostly based round cacti which ticks a great trend box plus the prints are currently mostly monochrome so perfect for a black and white lovers interior space!

UK based, Lino Loca, and a newbie to the world of Etsy, we predict great things for this Lino cutting designs/prints store.

Only a few bits to choose from so far but we are sure there’ll be even more delights to choose from soon.
Prices from £12

Bored of clean plain painted walls in your home? Using washi tape (and some inspirational images) is a quick brilliant way to introduce colour, pattern and quirkiness to a room.

It’s straight forward and non permanent, which makes it an ideal way to decorate – allowing easy changes, mistakes to be rectified or updates whenever you like.

Searching google, creative blogs and Pinterest gives a plethora of design ideas to get inspiration from.
Design depends on the room. Anything from geometric patterns, stripes, Aztec designs, crosses, linear and also a great way to bring in on-trend colours like blush, metallics or simply in monochrome.

For kids rooms it’s the perfect way to bring in their favourite images… animals, mountains, trains or simply fun pattern for stimulating a new born baby.

home: trend [ dark berry ]

It gets quite dark and opulent-gothic this autumn with bringing dark berry into home interiors. Layering up tones of this shade – think burgundy, port, rose, grape and other deep rich berry-like shades create a warm, inviting interior to see you into colder months.

Keep the look modern with matt tones and matt fabrics, use along side dark woods and allow textures of wool, leather and velvet to work together.

Think to use shades all the way from floor to walls to window covering to give strength to the look and pop in other jewel tones if want the odd highlight to break up the colour.

We have been waiting a long time for this collaboration. And if you don’t know about it, here is the lowdown.

Launching in October Swedish giant Ikea has joined forces with Danish brand Hay to create the new Ypperlig collection. Featuring furniture, vases, throws and accessories the Ypperlig collection has been designed to ‘challenge people’s perception of Ikea quality and design’

New redesign of Ikea Frakta bag

Hay has also taken on the challenge of redesigning the iconic blue & yellow Frakta bag. The size & shape has remained, with new colours including the green & white version pictured. Hay wanted to turn the bag into a ‘design object’ that customers appreciate.

We love the simplicity and muted colours of the collection, with strong design that will fit into any room. As Ikea says ‘a contemporary yet ageless collection’

Keep an eye out in store and online during October / ikea.com

home: found this [ Anna Hayman ]

Print designer Anna Hayman creates beautiful 60s & 70s patterns through turning original linocuts into wallpapers, fabric and art prints. These gorgeous patterns are particularly stunning on her range of lamp shades.

Anna has now collaborated with illustrator Beth Faser to create these A3 character piece aet prints. There are four designs in the collection and we love them.
‘I wanted to create some fashion style illustrations incorporating my patterns and when I was introduced to Beth, I knew she was the perfect partner for the project with her bold and louche style. She cleverly mixes ink painting with paper collage to create these languid characters, I think the style combines with my prints really well, and I love the feel of these super laid back girls’
